New England Colonists, 1600-1700 Chandler-Cherey


Edmund was at Plymouth, Mass. in 1633 and by 1650, he was granted land at Duxbury, Mass. but moved to Scituate, Mass. He ultimately settled his land at Duxbury by 1662.

John was a freeman at Concord, Mass. in 1640.

John was living in Portsmouth, N.H. in 1658 as a shoemaker.

Nathaniel was at Duxbury, Mass. in 1643.

Roger was living at Plymouth, Mass. in 1633.

Roger was married at Concord in 1671.

Samuel was at Plymouth in 1633 before removing to Dorchester, Mass. by 1664, where he married.

William was at Roxbury in 1637 and was one of the original proprietors of Andover, Mass..

William was at Newbury, Mass. pre-1652.


Deacon was killed in King Phillips War on November 11, 1675.

Samuel first went to Roxbury before permanently settling at Springfield, Mass in 1641.

Michael was at Salem in 1668.

Chaplin or Chaplain

Clement was a chandler and was born in England in 1587. He left Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England in 1635 for Cambridge before removing to Hartford, Conn..

Hugh, son of Ebenezer and grandson of Jeremiah of Bradford, England was born in 1603 and went to Rowley, Mass. in 1638.


Edward was at Windsor, Conn. in 1662 and was killed in King Phillips War on December 19, 1675.

Edward came from Yorkshire, England to Boston in 1639 before removing to Ipswich, Mass. in 1642. He finally ended up at Rowley.

John was a weaver and freeman at Charlestown, Mass. in 1634. He was at New Haven, Conn. in 1639 before moving to Fairfield and ending at Stamford, Conn..

Ralph was a ships carpenter and born in Southwark, Surrey, England in 1615, He went to Duxbury, Mass. in 1636 and afterwards to Marshfield, Mass..

Richard was at Braintree, Mass. in 1649.

Robert came from Hull, England to Boston in 1635 but moved that same year to Saybrook, Conn..

Robert was at Dover, N.H. in 1663.

Simon was at Ipswich in 1675.

William was at New London, Conn. by 1656.

George was born in England in 1615 and came to New England in 1635. He was living in Wethersfield, Conn. by 1637 and then New London, Conn. by 1650.

Nathaniel was at Boston in 1634.

William settled in New London, Conn. by 1653.


William was a freman at Weymouth, Mass. in 1654.


John was at Charlestown, Mass. in 1636 and then moved to New Haven, Conn by 1640.

William was at Salem in 1637.

Chase or Chace

Aquilla was a mariner and was the son of Richard of Hundrich, Chesham, England, and the fourth generation of Thomas. Aquilla was born in 1618 and settled at Hampton, N.H. in 1640 before moving to Newbury in 1646.

Bartholomew was at Providence, R.I. in 1645.

Thomas was the brother of Aquilla and settled at Hampton, N.H. in 1640.

William came to Roxbury in 1630 before removing to Scituate in 1645 and lastly to Yarmouth after that date.

Francis was one of the first settlers of Guilford, Connn. in 1639.

George, brother of the preceding, was at Guilford in 1640 and went to Easthampton, L.I. after, leaving no male issue.


Rev. Charles, son of George of Yardley, Herfordshire, England and bapt. in 1592, went to Plymouth in 1637. By 1641, he moved to Scituate and became the first president of Harvard College in 1654.


Anthony was the merchant son of William, of Preston Capes, Northamptonshire, England and was bapt. in 1636. John was at Boston in 1645.

John was a cooper from St. Saviour, Southwark, England and came to Boston in 1670.

Chedsey or Chidsey

John was at New Haven, Conn. in 1644.

Bartholomew was a cordwainer who was born at Canterbury, Kent, England in 1608. He was a freeman at Boston in 1637.

Daniel, brother of the preceding, was at Cambridge in 1646.

Ezekiel was a schoolmaster who was born in London in 1616. He came to Boston in 1637 and moved to New Haven, Conn. the following year. He then went to Ipswich in 1650, Charlestown by 1660 and finally to Boston by 1670.

Peter was at Salem in 1668.


Robert was at Ipswich in 1644.

William was at Scarborough, Maine in 1676.


John was a shoemaker at Roxbury in 1635, then went to Newbury by 1636.

John was at Watertown, Mass. early but died in 1675.

Lambert was born in England in 1593 and came to Salem in 1630. He was at Watertown and Dedham, Mass. by 1635.

Thomas was born in England in 1604 and died at Roxbury in 1667.

William, brother of John, was at Roxbury pre-1639.


David was at Wickford, R.I. in 1674.
